Network Engineers with knowledge around Cisco are wanted by a well known Digital Film and Video company.


This is a part time role of 20 hours a week, the company operates a 40 hour week so this opening would be for 2.5 days a week.


We are looking for a Network Engineer to help operate, support, and develop our enterprise network environment. Working in close partnership with the Network Architect, you will contribute to the delivery of network improvements, uphold security standards, and optimise performance to ensure the reliability and resilience of the platform.


The successful candidate will demonstrate broad technical capability across networking technologies, with strong practical experience using Cisco hardware and solutions. This role spans the full network stack and offers a mix of design support, operational responsibility, and project delivery. While primarily hybrid and office-based, the position will occasionally involve hands-on technical work, including installing and removing equipment, refreshing end-of-life infrastructure, and carrying out fibre patching as required.


Technical Overview:

Essential

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in network engineering.

  • Network qualifications, we’re happy to accept expired cisco qualifications.

  • Proven expertise with Cisco networking equipment and technologies. A cisco certification or equivalent experience is preferred. (non-active qualifications are acceptable)

  • Experience with firewall change management and rule implementation.


Desirable

  • Experience with Cisco FMC, FTD, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS)

  • Familiarity with NAC solutions for access control.

  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools.

  • Exposure to other vendors such as Palo Alto or Mellanox.

  • Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).

  • Experience with cloud networking, particularly AWS.


Skills 

  • Working knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills 

  • Strong understanding of switching technologies (VLANS, STP, Port Channels)
